Students at Turkey’s Ankara University taken into custody for setting up a Women’s Day stand

While a number of college campuses in Turkey’s major cities remain under strict police surveillance in reference to months-long state of emergency laws enforced across the country, students of Ankara University who set up a stand on their campus to mark the nearing World Women’s Day were attacked by police today (March 6).

Around 10 students have been taken into custody.

A crowd of students protested police’s treatment of the students by applauding.
