According to the latest statements of office of Turkey’s Undersecretariat of Treasury, the country’s gross debt stood at 793 billion TL as of March 31st, 2017.
While 483 billion TL of this debt is in TL value, 309 billion of it is owed in foreign currency.
On the other hand, assets owed to Turkey had a value of around 18 billion as of the end of March. Of this amount, 12 billion is owed to Treasury by local governments of Turkey, according to latest data.
With a major deficit, where debt is 45 times more than current receivables, Turkey was able to receive only about 30 million by the end of March.
