In response to German Chancellor Merkel’s latest statements regarding a freeze on the updating of customs union deal between Turkey and EU, Turkey’s President Erdoğan called on to Turkish Diaspora living in Germany and said: “Do not make a mistake and cast your votes for them! Don’t!”
Erdoğan’s statements came during a briefing with a group of journalists as he walked out from the mosque after the Friday prayers.
Answering journalists’ questions, Erdoğan said ‘Germany’s strategy is the main cause for the problems between Turkey and Germany’ and deemed Germany as ‘a country no longer aligned with the EU’.
Asserting that the German politicians from ‘SPD and Christian Democratcs have got into a rush to get votes for the upcoming elections by blasting Turkey’, Erdoğan called on citizens of Turkey living in Germany and said: “I call on all my citizen (in Germany). Don’t you ever make a mistake and vote for them: the SPD, Christian Democracts, and the Greens. Don’t! Cast your votes for a party that is not an enemy of Turkey. This is now a struggle for honor for all of my Turkish citizens living in Germany”.
