Speaking at an awards ceremony organized by Kayseri Chamber of Industry, Turkey’s Prime Minister Binali Yıldırım said: “Nowadays, there are some people trying to portray a pessimistic scenerio about Turkish economy. Throughout AKP ruling, we have not only served the country but reached this level by fighting against guards and plots. We have come to this level by crushing down the heads of those rising up!”

PM Yıldırım pointed out that the current president of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, was the first ever directly elected president of Turkey and asserted on ‘AKP having been faced with calamaties, such as the attempts against their party to be shut down; a plot of a judicial coup; Gezi protests; 17-25 December operations; financial strikes with gold; and, July 15 coup attempt.’

Referring to July 15 as Turkey’s second war of independence, Yıldırım added the following: “The firm stand of our President, our government’s determination, and our nation’s courage have not given way to the rascals. Those who could not defeat Turkey in the ballot box started the Gezi protests in order to weaken Turkey and to stand on its way. But they learned their lesson on December 17. Eventually, they got helpless and stole the people’s tanks… But the Chief Commander, the President, said to his nation ‘let’s not give way to those rascals; come out to the squares’… That precious nation wrote down its second epic of its independence war that night. They saved the future of the country… Foreigners do not understand this… The vile FETÖ which could not achieve a result on July 15 has been pouring down the favors it received from the nation drop by drop to the lobby firms in order to discredit Turkey’s economy. There is now no doubt that this is a bloody-minded terrorist organization… We are going to treat (them) by taking justice as the essence, not mercy… Next week, we are going to submit our proposal (for constitutional changes) to the Parliament. We have been working together with MHP… Final decision lies with the people…
