While delivering a speech to the local headmen at the Presidential Palace on Wednesday (August 22), Turkey’s President Erdoğan continued targetting the main opposition leader Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu.

Referring to a picture of the chair of the main opposition party CHP (Republican People’s Party) taken while he was having dinner with his daughter in the caravan used during his famous Justice March, President and the chair of ruling AKP, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, tried to defame Kılıçdaroğlu for having appeared in the picture with an undershirt.

Deeming it as an ‘insult to the citizens’, Erdoğan called on to Kılıçdaroğlu and said: “You say ‘I am the head of Atatürk’s party’. Have you seen an image of Atatürk eating with an undershirt on like this?”

On Thursday (August 23), CHP’s Kılıçdaroğlu appeared on Turkey’s NTV, answering questions of the program host Oğuz Hakan.

In response to a question regarding the picture taken by Hürriyet newspaper’s photo-journalist Selahattin Sönmez and published in the book of Sönmez titled as ‘Those searching for justice on the road’, Kılıçdaroğlu said: “In that picture, you cannot see even a slightest bit of posing. I am having dinner with my daughter (in the picture). That photo is a photo of an ordinary family from Anatolia; not a photo of a chair of a party”.

Reacting to Erdoğan’s slamming on the picture, Kılıçdaroğlu said: “I say justice; he says undershirt”.
