BirGün reporter Hüseyin Şimşek threatened for revealing rape of a baby

BirGün reporter Hüseyin Şimşek was threathened with death on social media after his reporting of a 9 months of old baby raped in İslahiye district of Antep.

In the earlier news of today, it was reported that a baby of a Syrian family was found raped in the tent, which had been set up by her family near the fields where they have been working on daily-wages.

Official statements on the incident and the arrest of the suspect

As police and gendarme began searching for the suspect, it was then reported that a 18 year old boy, also residing in the same district, has been arrested in relation to the brutal crime.

AKP MP from Antep, Şamil Tayyar, has also announced the arrest of this suspect from his social media account by stating: “The crooked pervert has been caught. This is where the words fail! Hopefully, death penalty will be passed and he will die over the execution stool!”

Also making statements to BirGün newspaper, Şamil Tayyar verified the news about the incident, as well as, the arrest of the suspect, adding that he is ‘an 18 year old citizen of Turkey, who is a shepherd.’

Antep Governor’s Office has also released an official statement which read as:

“It has been reported to our District Gendarme that a Syrian family from our city’s İslahiye district’s Çerçili town had left, for a short time, their daughter to a S.D., a shepherd also working in the same farm as the family; and, then, they realized that their daughter had been molested sexually.

As our security forces launched operations after receiving notice in regards to this incident, suspect S.D. has been caught and legal proceedings are still taking place.

BirGün reporter Hüseyin Şimşek has received ‘death threats’ for revealing the case

Meanwhile, BirGün reporter Hüseyin Şimşek has been subjected to numerous threats, including threats of death, on social media.

Some of the threats were as the following:

“All lovers of the homeland shall denounce this homeless dog!”

“The person who has reported this on the toilet paper called BirGün is Hüseyin Şimşek”

“This (Hüseyin Şimşek) is a separatist terrorist. I am reporting him!”

“Spread the @simsekhuseyinn account from here. The public shall decide on the lynching. These are terrorists with a pen.”

“You... man, you are a scum... you must not be allowed to live!”

“Why are not these reporters put in jail?”

“This is not a threat! Our nation says what it will do! You have betrayed your country and nation and you will pay the price for it! That is it!”

“May God damn you, you son of a b*tch! We are not going to let you live! It is not certain whether you will see tomorrow or not!”
