The bill of the AKP government which is now widely referred to among public in Turkey as the ‘bill of rape’ will be further discussed at parliamentary commission due to reactions, as Prime Minister Binali Yıldırım announced this morning.

In the front page article of BirGün yesterday (November 21), it was reported that the bill was actually being proposed with an aim to protect a high profile AKP official.

According to the reports of Sözcü newspaper journalist Saygı Öztürk, Yusuf İnci - brother of former AKP MP of Sakarya Ali – will be benefitting from this bill if it passes.

It is known that Ali İnci and his family are the owners of the firm named İnci Group, which operates around the region of Sakarya. Currently, there is a warrant of arrest for Yusuf İnci based on accusations for having raped a 14 year old girl; however, he has been out of Turkey. If the proposed bill is legislated, Yusuf İnci will be freed of trial.

It also seems that the relations go beyond that of a simple brotherhood bonds. Ali İnci – former AKP MP and brother of Yusuf İnci – has had quite close friendship with AKP Kocaeli MP İlyas Şeker, who is one of the designers of the scandalous bill.

It’s also revealed that the two - former Sakarya MP İnci and Kocaeli MP Şeker – worked very closely during the election campaigns of last year.
