Erdoğan reacts to US Chief of Intelligence Clapper: ‘Who are you? Know your place!’

President Erdoğan visited the Special Operations Unit in Ankara, Gölbaşı, where the coup attempters had attacked during the night of July 15th, causing 50 people to lose their lives.

During his visit today, Erdoğan gave a speech and also reacted to US Director of National Intelligence for his statements made on Thursday. Erdoğan said: “He (James Clapper) says that ‘the high ranked officials that we were in contact with have been arrested.’ One should shy away a little; is it up to you to make the decision on this? Who are you? Firstly, you should know your place!”

Director of National Intelligence James Clapper had made a statement earlier at Aspen Security Forum, commenting on the current situation in Turkey and its implications for the dynamic of the cooperation between the two countries. Clapper had said: “It's affected all segments of the national security apparatus in Turkey. Many of our interlocutors have been purged or arrested. There is no question this is going to set back our cooperation with the Turks."
