Participation in the Justice March in Turkey continued to grow on its 3rd day, too. The march, which was started in Ankara and is planned to end in İstanbul, was also attended by journalists, artists, and politicians. Meanwhile, threatening comments of President Erdoğan about the Justice March have actually proved the demand of the march right.

The Justice March, which was started in the face of ongoing injustices in the country, has marked its 3rd day. On Saturday (June 17), more groups gave support to the march…

Talking to journalists before the march started at 9:00 in the morning yesterday, Chair of CHP, Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, reemphasized that the march is not related to only one party but rather it is a demand for ‘justice’ for all.

Kılıçdaroğlu said: “Today is the third day of our justice march. We are again going to walk for justice in great ambition and determination. There is criticism from various platforms and from especially the government. We respect those criticisms. And, if our march is bothering them, that actually serves for our purpose. I hope the unconscious ones become conscious.”

Replying the questions on arrest of son-in-law of İstanbul mayor Kadir Topbaş, Ömer Faruk Kavurmacı, again, Kılıçdaroğlu said ‘his arrest again was not right’ since he could also be tried without arrest.

Among the participants was EMEP (Labour Party) chair Selma Gürkan. In her statement about the march, Gürkan drew attention to the imprisonment of journalists and HDP’s co-chairs and MPs and said the wide support for the march ‘reflected the great expectation in the country for justice, democracy, and freedoms.’

A former MP from MHP (Nationalist Movement Party), Hasan Basri Coşkun, was also there in support. Coşkun said: “We didn’t see such injustice even in times of 12 September coup (1980). I hope that this march brings about justice. MHP’s chair Devlet Bahçeli now acts completely in line with the AKP chair Erdoğan. Constituents of MHP also needs to support this march.”

On the other hand, president Erdoğan threatened the supporters of the march and pointed a finger at main opposition leader Kılıçdaroğlu by saying ‘Don’t be surprised if tomorrow judiciary invites you, too!’
