First response of President Erdoğan to objections to rigged referendum: 'It is over'
Having kept it silent for the past few days since reactions and objections against the rigged referendum results have grown in the country, Turkey’s president Erdoğan has made his first comment about the official objections today.
Sending an implied message in reference to opposition parties’ assertions on taking the issue to the Constitutional Court of Turkey or the European Court of Human Rights if necessary, Erdoğan said: “This is not under the jurisdiction of the Constitutional Court or the European Court of Human Rights. Interference of Europe has got a backlash. The decision of the Supreme Board of Elections of Turkey (to reject objections) is clear; it’s over!”
Erdoğan also mentioned that he will be meeting with the US President Donald Trump on May 16-17.
