Former Al-Qaeda group grants an award to Turkey’s İHH
A split faction of Al-Qaeda in Syria, Ha’yat Tahrir, organized an awards ceremony in İdlib for the ‘secret heroes of the revolution’.
According to reports of SoL news portal, Turkey’s İHH (Humanitarian Relief Foundation) – an organization that had taken a role in Mavi Marmara flotilla – also received an award from the jihadist group.
Speaking at the ceremony, head of the branch, Ameer Abu Jabir said: “We cannot thank enough to anyone.”
The first awardee to come up on the platform was the head of the White Helmets, the group also known as Civil Defense Team of Syria, which receives aid from both USA and England. Though claims about connection of White Helmets with Al-Qaeda were asserted before, the group denied such claims.
