HDP condemns bomb attacks in Diyarbakır and Mardin

HDP released a written statement of condemnation of the recent bomb attacks of PKK in Diyarbakır’s Sur district and Mardin’s Kızıltepe district. In the attack in Diyarbakır, five people lost their lives and 12 – 5 of them police officers – got wounded. Attack in Mardin caused 2 police officers and a civilian to lose their lives, and 20 people – 5 police officers – to get wounded.

The released statement read as:

“In the bomb attacks carried out in Mardin, Kızıltepe and in Diyarbakır, Sur many of our citizens lost their lives and many others got wounded. We once again emphasize that by principle we find these kinds of attacks, where our citizens’ living and working areas are targeted, wrong regardless of which city such attack takes place; and, we condemn these attacks. We share the sorrow with all of our people, for our citizens who lost their lives and who got wounded. We wish blessings of God for those who lost their lives and quick recovery for those who got wounded. We don’t accept getting inured to explosions, violence, and bombs as part of daily lives. We renew our call for taking steps for ending this bloodshed and violence as soon as possible, by talking over our problems and solving them through negotiations.”
