Journalist of Turkey's opposition daily Evrensel taken into custody

Journalist and photographer of Turkey’s opposition newspaper Evrensel, Kemal Özer, has been taken into custody in Dersim (officially called Tunceli).

As Evrensel Daily reported, Özer was detained at a security checkpoint in the region on September 4 and taken to the gendarme’s provincial headquarters with an order of a warrant of arrest issued by prosecutor’s office of the eastern Tunceli province.
Özer had been previously threatened because of his reports on illegal hunting, said Evrensel’s reports.

Exact reason for his detention has not been reported yet, though initial reports indicated that it is part of the ongoing anti-terror operations of security forces in the province and the region at large.
