Lawyers of Turkey's hunger-striking teachers detained just two days before trial
Lawyers of the two dismissed and jailed hunger-striking educators in Turkey have been taken into custody today (September 12).
The operation against the lawyers of Nuriye Gülmen and Semih Özakça, who have been held in detention for nearly 4 months, is carried out only two days ahead of the first trial of the educators.
The detentions of at least ten lawyers were announced in a statement released by the People’s Law Office (Halkın Hukuk Bürosu) of Turkey. ‘Authorities want to leave Nuriye and Semih without lawyers’, the statement of the law office said.
