Marble firm in Turkey offers ‘free tombstone for those exchanging their USD to TL’
As value of USD went up in Turkey speedily, especially after the decision of EP to freeze talks with Turkey and the reactions of AKP officials against it, President Erdoğan and some of the top AKP officials called on people of Turkey to exchange their foreign currencies to Turkish lira in order to help increase the value of TL.
While various striking demonstrations took place at different parts of the country - such as people burning dollar bills and shop owners offering free items for those exchanging dollars -, another interesting assertion came from an owner of a marble firm from Turkey’s Bursa province.
It was announced that the firm would present a tombstone as a gift for those citizens who exchange their dollars and bring the receipts to firm.
Owner of the firm Enes Alan said: “We will give our citizens who exchange 2000 USD to TL the tombstone that is worth 750 TL for free. Moreover, we will even place the stone at a tomb spot!”
