The puzzlement over President Erdoğan’s university diploma has gained yet another dimension. Prosecutor’s office has stated that he is a graduate of İstanbul University, denying the initial information regarding his graduation from Marmara University.

New discrepancy about Erdoğan’s diploma: It’s İstanbul University not Marmara

BirGün/Ankara

Halkın Kurtuluş Partisi-HKP (People’s Emancipation Party) had previously litigated over the authenticity of Erdoğan’s university diploma. Responding to this, the prosecutor’s office stated that Erdoğan is not a graduate of Marmara University but rather a graduate of İstanbul University.

Prosecutor’s office had decided ‘not to put’ the petition in process, so, HKP appealed it to the Constitutional Court. To this petition, of whichYARSAV (Turkish Association of Judges and Prosecutors) founding chair Ömer Faruk Eminağaoğlu was the lawyer, Ankara Public Prosecutor’s Office gave a response in rejection, reasoning that Erdoğan is not a graduate of Marmara University but he is a graduate of İstanbul University.
