No votes take the lead in major cities in Turkey

According to the first results of Turkey’s critical referendum on controversial constitutional changes, ‘No’ votes have taken the lead in the country’s largest cities, including the capital city of Ankara, where 88.35% of the votes have been counted and the No votes stood at 50.04%.

In İstanbul, no votes are so far at 50.16%; in İzmir, 67.36%; and in Diyarbakır, 67.48%.

The race is at a very tight point as the overall percentage of Yes votes are 51.5%.

Conflicting reports

While CNN Türk and state-run AA reported that 96.2% of casted ballots were counted all throughout the country by 7:50 pm, FOX TV announced Supreme Board of Elections stated the percentage of counted votes at that time was 70%.
