Over 135K state employees either suspended or dismissed in Turkey, says minister of labor

Turkey’s Minister of Labor and Social Security Mehmet Müezzinoğlu gave updates on the number of total state employees either suspended or dismissed from position in the aftermath of coup attempt of last year.

Talking to CNN Türk, Minister Müezzinoğlu said a total of 135,356 public employees have been included in Turkey’s greatest purge, where 97,679 of these employees have been suspended and 37,677 have been dismissed in relation to their ‘suspected ties to terror groups such as FETÖ, PKK, DHKP-C, and DAESH’. 19,345 personnel have been returned to their positions after having been suspended, minister added.
