Palestinian president arrives in Turkey for a visit upon Erdoğan’s invitation

After an invitation from Turkey’s President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas arrived in Turkey’s capital city of Ankara on Sunday (August 27) for a three-day visit.

In a written statement released by the press office of the Presidency of Turkey, the purpose of the visit is stated as for the officials of the two countries to ‘review bilateral relations between Turkey and Palestine and to discuss issues relating to strengthening of the peace process’.
