Pro-government columnist claims AKP will not withdraw the bill on child abuse

In a recent article, writer from Hürriyet newspaper known for his affinity with AKP, Abdulkadir Selvi, claimed that the bill that suggests for child abusers to be freed of their punishments if they marry with the victim will be passed in the Parliament.

The Parliamentary discussions and voting on the bill will be held today (November 22). Meanwhile, columnist Selvi stated that AKP will not withdraw the bill but rather suggest certain changes, such as defining the age of consent as 14 and excluding those who commit the crime while they are already married.

According to this regulation, it will be possible for a child at the age of 14 or over to be wed with the molester; and, in that way, the molester will get out of jail or do not get sentencing.
