Prosecutor in Turkey seeks 142 years jail time for HDP’s co-chair Demirtaş and 83 years for co-chair Yüksekdağ
Prosecutor handling the case against 9 MPs and co-chairs of Turkey’s HDP (People’s Democratic Party) has completed the indictment, seeking from 43 to 142 years of jail time for co-chair Selahattin Demirtaş and from 30 to 83 years for co-chair Figen Yüksekdağ.
According to the reports of HaberTürk, in the indictment, Demirtaş is being charged with ‘being an executive of PKK and taking the role of a representative for its political platform’, as well as, ‘doing propaganda for terror and triggering crime by going against laws on assembling and demonstrations’.
