Purge in Turkey continues: detention warrants against over 200 more people

Over 10 months after the failed coup attempt in Turkey, the government continues its purge in both public and private sectors against people alleged to have ties to the Islamic cleric Fethullah Gülen’s Hizmet movement, which the government accuses with plotting the coup attempt.

According to earlier reports of DHA on Tuesday morning (May 23), warrants of arrest have been issued against 33 employees at Turkey’s Information Technologies and Communications Authority (BTK) and 36 people at the Capital Markets Board (SPK).

Turkey’s pro-government Sabah newspaper also reported recently that in scope of the investigation against FETÖ (Fethullah Gülen Terrorist Organization) handled by İstanbul’s chief prosecutor’s office, warrants of arrest have been issued against 144 members of Turkish Armed Forces (TSK).
