Reaction of Erdoğan to warrant of arrest against his guards over attack on protesters in DC

Turkey’s president Erdoğan reacted to the warrant of arrest issued against his body guards who got involved in a bloody attack on protesters in US capital Washington, DC back in May during the visit of Erdoğan to the country to meet with president Trump.

Erdoğan said on Thursday (June 15) evening: “PKK terrorist organization and the FETÖ members got together and they were holding a demonstration against me 40-50 meters away from me. What would be the approach if something similar was to happen in Turkey? Not only did they (DC police) not do anything but they also took into custody two of our fellow countrymen who intervened with them (the protesters)... What kind of a law is this? If these guards won’t protect me, why am I taking them with me to the USA? Am I to get protetion for myself from the American Hans? When the US leaders come to my country, they do not even allow Turkish police to sit in their car. When we go there, they say ‘no, we are going to have our own police on duty.’ We are going to fight for this politically and legally.”
