Student in Turkey detained as police detect her fingerprints on a Gülen book in garbage

A college student in Turkey’s Samsun province has been taken into custody with the claims of the security forces that ‘some books about Fethullah Gülen that were thrown out had her fingerprints on them’.

The young student was caught and taken into custody by the counter-terrorism units in Samsun, as some people in town found the thrown out books and reported it to the police, Cumhuriyet newspaper reported.

After appearing before the court on duty and testifying, the young woman was released with the condition of legal control.

The massive purge in Turkey that was started last year in response to a failed coup attempt – alleged by government to have been plotted by followers of exiled Islamic cleric Fethullah Gülen who has been in USA – has involved dismissal of hundreds of thousands and imprisonment of tens of thousands, mostly on grounds of ‘alleged ties to the coup plotters’.
