Testimonies of two children sexually assaulted by brother of a former AKP MP

Two girls at ages of 14 and 15 had given testimonies about the sexual assault they were subjected to by Yusuf İnci, brother of former AKP MP from Sakarya Ali İnci. According to the testimonies and claims that BirGün have obtained, Yusuf İnci used to sexually exploit and assaults girls in the region (in Sakarya) who had to work due to their bad financial conditions. After having been accused, Yusuf İnci escaped to the Ivory Coast, where the family of İnci has a company.
The incidents of sexual assaults that took place in 2015 had been tried to be covered up through the influence of the former AKP MP’s networks. However, due to severity of the scandals, which are reflected in the testimonies of the victims – under age 18 – of the sexual assault, a criminal complaint was eventually filed against Yusuf İnci.
Testimony of R.D.
Girls, one of whom were born in 1999 and the other in 2000, had made the following statements in their testimonies:
R.D.: “I am in 9th grade, at ... Anatolian High School. I had given a testimony to the police department about this investigation. I worked in a hair salon named as Y. last summer for about 2 and a half month. The owner of this business is A.K...”
Mentioning that Yusuf İnce had sex with her 3 times without her consent, R.D. continues her testimony: “I went to the hair salon after school. I sat in the TV room, as usual. About 10 minutes later, Yusuf İnce came in. As it happened in previous times, sister A. closed the door after Yusuf İnci entered in and locked the door as were alone with him. He, again, had sex with me without my will...”
Implication of involvement of people around her in prostitution
Further statements of R.D. shared in her testimony also reveal some people around here were involved in prostitution as she said: “Sister A. told me one day that N.D. and S.Y. were in such relations and had earned a lot of money. She told me if I acted smart and did what they did, I would have earned lots of money like them. I had seen those girls at the hair salon as customers.”
R.D. continues her testimony saying the woman that she refers to as Sister A. used to threaten her so R.D. could not tell anyone anything or report to the police department out of fear.
Other girl, A.D., had wanted to change her testimony because of threats
Similarly, the other child subject, A.D., was also forced to have sex without her consent. Her testimony suggests that she was also subjected to sexual assault and deceived, as she was also introduced with Yusuf İnci despite her young age and forced to have sex with him.
On the other hand, once the incidents were taken to the court, a confidentiality order had been issued on the case.
