Turkey’s HDP appeals to Constitutional Court over breach of rights in referendum

Turkey’s People’s Democratic Party (HDP) has appealed to the Constitutional Court over ‘breach of constitutional laws during the referendum’ held on April 16th.

Taking the issue to the Court on behalf of her party, deputy co-chair Fatma Kurtulan stated in the letter that Article 67 of the Constitution, which is on the ‘right to vote, to be elected, and to engage in political activity’, was violated since ‘political activities of her party’s members were systematically restricted and blocked’ throughout the process leading to the referendum.
