Turkey’s main opposition leader calls on to Erdoğan: ‘If you’ve got the courage, let’s debate July 15’

Speaking at his party’s parliamentary group meeting on Tuesday (July 18), chair of main opposition CHP (Republican People’s Party), Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, started his speech by condemning terror and extending condolences messages to all teachers and the family of the teacher recently killed by PKK militants in the country’s southeastern town of Urfa.

Referring to the record-long Justice March which he started and completed – with the support of thousands – to protest the unlawful practices of the regime in Turkey and to demand justice to be restored, Kılıçdaroğlu said the government ‘authorities themselves could not even assert that there is justice in the country’. ‘Instead, they criticized us by saying justice cannot be sought on the roads’.

Kılıçdaroğlu also gave statements about the July 15 coup plot and called on the chair of ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) and the president Recep Tayyip Erdoğan by saying: “You can say all you want… I dare you: if you have the courage and if you’re not a coward, come up front and let’s get together at any date and anytime on any mainstream media of yours and let’s debate the July 15. My brother! If you’re not a coward, confront me! If you have got courage, you will come up front. The people shall know who tells the truth and who doesn’t!”
