VIDEO: Message from students of Boğaziçi University to Erdoğan

Students of Boğaziçi University released a video where they called on President Erdoğan to ‘respect the elections held at their university’ and to ‘not interfere with the freedom and autonomy of their institution’.

Shared by the students of the university through Facebook, the video included their message noting that although 3 months have passed since the completion of the election process for the position of rector at their schools, appointment of the elected candidate has not been made by the president’s office.

Expressing their demand also on behalf of the academicians, all other students, and administrative members of the school, the students said in their video message: “Even though Gülay Barbarosoğlu received 86% of the votes in the rectoral elections, the official appointment has still not been completed for the past three months.
