‘We'll run operations against terrorists all winter’, says Turkey’s interior minister

Talking to a crowd in front of the headquarters of the provincial municipality of northern Trabzon province on the second day of Eid, Turkey’s Interior Minister Süleyman Soylu said the ‘winter months will be marked with heavy operations of Turkey’s armed forces against terrorists’.

As Doğan News Agency (DHA) of Turkey reported over the weekend, Soylu said: “Our citizens should expect from us a much stronger fight against terror, especially during the months of September, October, and November. In response to this, they (militants) would also try carrying out certain acts. In this regard, we are also monitoring their internal discussions. We are carrying out a widespread operation with the participation of all of our security forces. This winter will entirely pass by under operations”.
Mentioning the role of Turkey’s armed forces in northern Syria and Iraq, Soylu also commented on the bloody operations of the army in Myanmar against the Muslim minority Rohingya in northern Rakhine state, saying: “What is being experienced in Arakan today is a result of the West’s wrong translation of the world”.
