38 people killed in bomb attacks in İstanbul; 14 people in intensive care

Turkey’s Interior Minister Süleyman Soylu had announced earlier this morning there were 166 people injured and 29 people who lost their lives as a result of the two bomb attacks at and near Vodafone Arena of İstanbul last night.

According to the latest statements of Minister Soylu, number of those who lost their lives rose to 38. There are currently 136 people still receiving treatments in hospitals; 14 of them are in intensive care, Minister said.

While other suspected packages around the area were detonated by the police at early hours of the morning, police took into custody 13 people in connection to the attack.

The two explosions were heard at various parts of İstanbul, including Taksim, Nişantaşı, Kabataş, Beşiktaş, Beylerbeyi, Üsküdar.
