58% of public in Turkey not in favor of a presidential system, according to research

Murat Gezici, owner and president of one of Turkey’s influential research institutions Gezici Research, shared the results of their organization’s recent research and survey on ‘referendum on presidential system in Turkey’.

According to the results shared by Gezici from his personal twitter account, 58% of Turkey’s public does not want a shift to a presidential system.

Ratios of those intending to cast a ‘nay vote’ on a referendum for shifting to presidential system, which is signaled by AKP officials to be held in spring months of 2017, is as follows:

AKP (Justice and Development Party) – 20.5%
CHP (Republican People’s Party) – 93.7 %
MHP (Nationalist Movement Party) – 64.2 %
HDP (People’s Democratic Party) – 95.3 %
