Access to social media in Turkey restricted; opposition news sources under cyber attack

Following the operation against Cumhuriyet newspaper, Cumhuriyet’s and several other opposition news sources’ websites (BirGün, Diken, T24, Sol Haber Portalı, and Gerçek Gündem) were put under cyber attack yesterday (November 3).

With the latest developments on arrests of HDP co-chairs Demirtaş and Yüksekdağ and 11 MPs of HDP, a serious difficulty with having complete access to internet and major social media sites (Whatsapp, Twitter, Facebok, and YouTube) has been reported to be taking place all across the country.
