Culture and Tourism Minister of Turkey: ‘İmam-Hatip schools are a grassroots movement’

Turkey’s Culture and Tourism Minister Nabi Avcı spoke at the awards ceremony held for the Mahmut Celalettin Ökten, the principal of the first İmam-Hatip High School (vacational schools with an Islamic curriculum) of Turkey.

Minister Avcı said: “İmam-Hatip schools are in essence a grassroots movement; it’s the intervention of the people with the education system.”
