Turkey issues notice of citizenship revocation against 130 people

On Monday morning (June 5), Turkey’s Official Gazette (Resmi Gazete) published a list of names of 130 people against whom the Interior Ministry has issued a notice of revocation of citizenship.

Including the Islamic preacher Fethullah Gülen – the alleged mastermind of coup attempt- and HDP MPs Tuğba Hezer Öztürk and Faysal Sarıyıldız, along with former HDP MP Özdal Üçer, the people in the list are warned that their citizenship will be revoked unless they return to Turkey from abroad within the next 3 months.

The announcement in the Official Gazette said the listed people are asked to return to Turkey as there are ongoing investigations and/or prosecution against them.

The list is reported to be consisting of suspects of cases against PKK, ISIL, and FETÖ.
