Turkey’s PM states bill on child abuse will be further discuss at a parliamentary commission

Answering questions of journalists at İstanbul’s Atatürk Airport this morning (November 22), Turkey’s Prime Minister Binali Yıldırım has stated that the bill suggesting for child molesters to get impunity from punishment if they marry the victimized child will be further discussed in a commission, rather than being voted on at Parliament floor today, due to major reactions against it.

Parts of the statements of PM are as the following: “There is no pardoning of the rapists; this is a bleeding wound. We must see it… Some have managed to create confusion among the public about this issue... If the opposition brings forth another proposal, we are going to take this into consideration. For now, the bill is taken to the commission.”
