Al-Nusra claims responsibility for killing of Russian Ambassador Karlov, according to reports
According to Russian media sources Sputnik and TASS, assassination of Russia’s Ambassador to Turkey Andrei Karlov has been claimed by jihadist group Fatah al-Sham, formerly known as Al-Nusra Front.
It’s been reported that the statement of Fatah al-Sham had been shared on internet as a letter.
There are middle-east based journalists who stated the letter’s authenticity is still not fully confirmed.
Turkey's officials, on the other hand, have asserted that FETÖ, the group held responsible for the failed coup attempt of July 15 in Turkey, was behind the assassination of Ambassador Karlov.
