Man chanting takbir raids an office of a mufti in Turkey with an axe in hand
An aggressor in Turkey’s İlkadım town of Samsun province entered the office of the mufti (an Islamic legal expert) and scared off people with the axe he got from the fire extinguisher cabinet inside the building.
The unidentified man, who is around in his 40s, broke into the building as the janitors were cleaning inside and chased them out.
As the cleaners called the police immediately, special operation teams came to the site. Though officers tried to talk him into putting down the axe and surrendering, he refused and attacked the police and also damaged the items in his surrounding with the axe in his hand. He also threw the fire extinguisher at the police, reports said.
When the police tried shooting at him, he ran upstairs but was eventually caught and taken into custody.
According to reports of CNN Türk, the man constantly chanted takbir (saying Allahu akbar) while attacking the police and anyone around him.
