Police in Turkey continue targeting people with 'Hero' t-shirts on

Police in Turkey’s southern province of Adana has taken into custody a man with a ‘Hero’ t-shirt on while he was dining at a small restaurant in Seyhan district.

Refusing to disclose the name of the detained, the police also told the journalists to leave the site, reports said.

The operation of the police against those with the ‘Hero’ t-shirts was started as a suspect of the failed coup plot had appeared before a judge in Ankara with the same t-shirt on. Deeming it as a message of followers of Fethullah Gülen, the alleged mastermind of coup plot, authorities in Turkey banned sale of the t-shirts with the same message and also stepped up to enforce a new rule on the attire of the suspects of the coup cases.

Dozens were taken into custody in various cities across the country, while one man was arrested for wearing the same t-shirt.
