Russia's chief of staff to visit Turkey

Turkey’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, gave a statement on Wednesday (August 16), announcing a visit by Russian Chief of Staff to Turkey to take place soon.

According to reports of CNN Türk, Çavuşoğlu said, ‘Russia understands Turkey’s stands against YPG better than USA’ and stated that Russia’s Chief of Staff Valery Gerasimov will hold a visit to Ankara to discuss with his counterpart and other government officials in Turkey the situation in İdlib.

Iran’s chief of staff is also currently in Ankara and will be completing his three day long visit to the country tomorrow.
