Turkish National Intelligence MİT knew about the attack 20 days priorly

Prime Minister Binali Yıldırım had made a statement in the aftermath of last night’s suicide bomb attack at Atatürk Airport of İstanbul and claimed, ‘there is not a security gap.’ However, it has now been reported that MİT officials had warned relevant departments and units about a possibility of an attack, and, in the warning text, Atatürk Airport was also included as a vulnerable site.

As Hande Fırat of CNN Turkish Ankara reported, intelligence officials had warned the respective offices of the state about a possible ISIL attack 20 days earlier. According to the report, Atatürk Airport was also listed as a possible target.

The latest written statement from the Office of İstanbul Governor announced that 41 lives have been lost in yesterday’s dreadful terror attack in İstanbul.
