'Those claiming world to be round are all Freemasons', writes executive of Turkey's AKP

Deputy president of the youth branch of Turkey’s ruling AKP (Justice and Development Party) and the head of the Environment, Cities and Culture office, Tolga Demir of İstanbul’s Fatih district, published an article on the official website of his branch – akgencfatih.com - under the title of ‘The theory of flat world’.

As Gözde Tüzer from Turkey’s opposition newspaper Evrensel reported, Demir wrote in his article that ‘all who have claimed the world to be round are Freemasons’.

Also claiming humans actually have never been to the moon, the AKP executive said: “Humans have never been out of this planet but in order to create an illusion of an easy travel (to space), these kinds of lies are still being told. And, when all this is combined, it shows us that there could be a big game that is kept – or tried to be kept – secret”.

A political party with Islamist motives, the ruling AKP has been criticized by the opposition strongly for its backward policies and regulations, such as the recent exclusion of Darwin's evolution theory from school textbooks.
