Access to websites of 'certain' TV channels and radios also get blocked
Access to the official websites of Özgür Radio of İstanbul, Hayatın Sesi TV – which has recently been banned from broadcasting-, and, İMC TV – which had been ordered to shut-down previously – has been blocked.
The offices and studios of some of the recently shut-down TV channels and radios were raided by police forces yesterday. Today, websites of Özgür Radio, Hayatın Sesi TV, and İMC TV, which are all media institutions known for their voices of opposition to the AKP government and current state of affairs under its rule, have also been blocked to access.
Although no legal notice has been provided to the officials of Özgür Radio, their online streaming has been blocked with a message that read: ‘In accordance with the decision of the Institution of Information Technologies and Communications – with a code number of 490.05.01.2016-151554 and a date of issue on 30 September 2016 – an administrative precaution measure has been issued on this website.’
Meanwhile, Özgür Radio’s land streaming continues, for the time being, without an interruption.
Officials of Hayatın Sesi TV announced the blockage from their official twitter account.
