After ISIL, now TAK claims responsibility for deadly attack in Diyarbakır

Fırat news agency (ANF) announced today (November 6) that the car bomb that was exploded in front of Diyarbakır’s counter terrorism police station on November 4 was an act of TAK (Kurdistan Freedom Hawks).
According to the reports of ANF, TAK announced that their militant with the code name of Kemal Hakkari carried out the ‘suicide attack’ on Friday morning. In its annoucement, TAK also included a condolescences message for DBP (Democratic Regions Party) district head of Çüngüş Recai Altay, who lost his life in the attack.

Turkey's officials had claimed the perpetrator was PKK

Diyarbakır Governor had initially announced on the same day after the attack that the perpetrator was PKK. Later, reports on ISIL claiming responsibility for the attack had followed as it was announced through Amaq news agency.
While government officials, including the Governor of Diyarbakır, has kept insisting on the attack to have been carried out by PKK – not ISIL -, the reports about TAK, - a group claiming itself to be a break-away faction of Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) - have spread.
Following several speculative messages on social media in regards to the website of ANF having been under a cyber attack, the news agency that has reported the message of TAK has released information stating their website ‘has not been hacked.’

HDP’s message about the attack: ‘Was it against our representatives?’

As reports followed about ISIL having claimed responsibility for the attack near a central police station in Diyarbakır, HDP Press Office released a public statement yesterday pointing out that some of the detained HDP officials had actually been held in this building before having been taken to the court. Released on Saturday, November 5th, asking ‘whether the attack was against HDP officials’, parts of the message inclueded the following remarks:

"...The location that was attacked by ISIS at around 8:00 am yesterday morning was a police school, which has been used for more than ten years as an additional service building by the Diyarbakır General Directorate of Police. It is located in the center of Bağlar province and consists of a a complex of several units that houses also the riot police directorate.
Our Co-Chairs Figen Yüksekdağ and Selahattin Demirtaş as well as our deputies Gülser Yıldırım, Nursel Aydoğan, Sırrı Süreyya Önder and Ziya Pir, who were taken from their homes in Diyarbakır in custody, were kept in this building complex before being taken to court...

In yesterday`s attack, the DBP (Democratic Regions Party) co-president of the county Cüngüş, Recai Altay, who was also held custody in this building, lost his life...

...The minibus loaded with the bomb exploded before it could reach its actual destination. If the commercial taxi and the minibus had not collided, the minibus with the bomb would have reached its target.

Despite knowing all of these facts, the Diyarbakır Governor's Office has been misleading the public with fraudulent information. In addition, a number of 'media' organs continue to target our party and our co-chairs who were arrested along with our deputies..."
