Attacker of MP Tezcan: 'I told him to watch his language when talking about the Chief'
The aggressor who was arrested on for having shot CHP Deputy Chair and Aydın MP Bültent Tezcan with a gun at in Aydın at a restaurant said the following in his testimony: “We were eating with my friend. Then, Bülent Tezcan and others came to the restaurant, too. We were sitting very close. Bülent Tezcan was talking about the President. At that moment, I remembered of him attending HDP’s congress and paying respect during the moment of silence. I could not hold myself and went up to him. I said to him ‘Watch your language when you talk about the Chief (Recep Tayyip Erdoğan)’. And, he rebuffed. So, I shot him. I had had alcohol.”
It’s also been found out that Sargın has a criminal record for crimes such as wounding, forceful retention, and financial fraud.
CHP MP Tezcan was recently shot over the weekend by Sargın while dining at a restaurant located on the top floor of the building where CHP’s provincial office is also located. According to the reports of witnesses, his attacker had come over to Tezcan’s table and screamed at him ‘This is what happens if you work with PKK’, then, firing his arm and causing Tezcan to get shot from the top of his foot.
Having been treated in Aydın State Hospital, Tezcan’s health condition is reported to be well. While numerous people paid a visit to the hospital to see Tezcan, doctors are restricting the frequency of visits in order to keep his health well.
Numerous officials, including President Erdoğan and PM Yıldırım condemned the attack, while officials from Europe also shared their concern about such act.
