CHP has filed a case at the Constitutional Court for the annulment of certain items of the 2nd Statutory Decree passed after the July 15th coup attempt, under state of emergency; and, announced that it will continue taking other decrees to the court, as well.

CHP takes decrees passed by Council of Ministers under state of emergency to the Constitutional Court

CHP had previously announced its plans to take the recent statutory decrees passed by the Council of Ministers under state of emergency to the Constitutional Court. Today, it has officially filed a case with regards to the annulment of certain items of the 2nd Statutory Decree passed under state of emergency.

CHP representative Levent Gök gave statements to journalists, saying: “We have referred to the Constitutional Court for the annulment of certain items of the 2nd Statutory Decree, which was passed by the Council of Ministers in scope of the ongoing state of emergency… There have been 8 such decrees passed so far. Since the talks over the first of these decrees will be done at the Parliament, we are going to take that to the court after it is legislated… We are working on referring the other decrees to the Constitutional Court next Tuesday and the following days after that.”
