Head of Turkey's MHP expresses support for continuation of state of emergency
Giving statements during his meetings with party members for the Eid holiday, chair of Turkey’s MHP (Nationalist Movement Party), Devlet Bahçeli, expressed his support for continuation of the state of emergency law, which was declared last year in the face of a failed coup attempt.
Having sided with the ruling party AKP in the aftermath of the July 15 coup attempt, as well as, during the referendum process, at the cost of leading to major disputes within his party, Bahçeli has also been fierce in his criticism of the ongoing Justice March of the main opposition party CHP.
Bahçeli called on CHP head and members to ‘come to their senses’ and ‘stop the show-off.’
