Internet access still blocked in eastern and southeastern Turkey

Since the early morning hours of yesterday (October 26), internet access has been blocked in various eastern and southeastern provinces. While internet connection in cities of Diyarbakır, Mardin, Batman, Siirt, Van, Elazığ, Tunceli, Gaziantep, Şanlıurfa, Kilis, and Adıyaman could not be restored, no official announcement has been made about it, either, according to the reports of soL news portal. Block on internet access still remains in force in these regions today.

Similarly, restrictions and blockage on internet connection were experienced by the dwellers of these regions earlier in September when trustees were appointed to municipalities in place of DBP-held districts in several cities.

As HDP Diyarbakır co-presidents of the municipality Gültan Kışanak and Fırat Anlı remain in custody, workers of the municipality have decided to protest their detention by not coming to work today. Public buses are also no operating today as drivers are in support of the ongoing protests.
