LATEST: Turkey’s Interior Ministry announces activities of 370 more associations have been suspended

Turkey’s Interior Ministry has released a statement announcing activities of 370 more civil society institutions have been suspended in relation to investigations on FETÖ, PKK, DHKP-C, and ISIL.

In its statement, the Ministry said 153 of the associations have been banned from operating in connection to FETÖ; 190 to PKK/KCK; 19 to DHKP-C; and, 8 to ISIL.

Ministry included the following remarks: “As investigations and examinations about these institutions continue, our efforts against all groups, structures, and institutions in connection with terrorist groups are proceeding nonstop.”

Although no list has been released yet, reports have begun coming in about the doors of some of the institutions already being sealed by security officials.

Known for their activities in fields of human rights, social justice, and societal solidarity, associations such as Gündem Çocuk (Agenda Child) and MEYA-DER (Association of Mesopotamia – for solidarity with families that lost their loved ones in conflicts) are among the associations.
