Minister Çavuşoğlu: ‘They want to make our Kurdish brothers Marxist and atheist’

Visiting Antalya’s Manavgat district during Eid, Minister of Foreign Affairs Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu made statements about current affairs while talking to his party members.

Referring to the latest attack in Van, Çavuşoğlu said: “Our goal is to ensure peace everywhere in Turkey. Establishing peace for our Kurdish brothers who are oppressed is also our duty. Actually, you saw the attack in Van yesterday. Why was it on a day of holiday? Because, they (attackers) have no concern about such things. Their actual target is the faith of our Muslim, devoted, and conservative Kurdish brothers. They (PKK) want to make them Marxist and atheist. And, when they are not able to do that, they oppress them.”

According to the reports of state-run news agency AA, Çavuşoğlu reminded on their support to FSA and claimed that the current Syrian administration does not conform to the ceasefire.

Asserting that the operations of TSK continue in the region, Çavuşoğlu gave the following remarks about Turkey’s fight against terror: “We enter their caves in the mountains, which they see as ‘castles’; and, we wipe them out. Yesterday, in those regions, our heroic soldiers held the Eid prayers. Don’t you worry! We are going to continue our fight until they are all wiped out both within and outside.”
