ÖDP and HAZİRAN member Canbolat taken to counter-terrorism unit for having in his possession Mahir Çayan's book
ÖDP Mersin eski İl Başkanı ve Haziran Hareketi Mezitli Yürütmesi üyesi Oktay Canbolat’ın evine dün polis baskını düzenlendi ve polis arama emrini göstermeden evinde arama yaptı. ÖDP ve Birleşik Haziran hareketi bildiri ve afişlerini alan güvenlik şube ekipleri üç tane dizüstü bilgisayarına ve kitaplarına el koydu.
ÖDP (Freedom and Solidarity Party) former head of Mersin and HAZİRAN member Oktay Canbolat’s house had been raided and searched by police yesterday.
Having been taken into custody for distributing pro-secularism flyers, Canpolat was then informed that he was being held in custody for ‘assaulting the President through the messages in the flyer.’
While he was supposed to be taken to the prosecutor’s office today, he was instead taken to the ‘counter-terrorism unit’ because of having in his possession – at home – Mahir Çayan’s (a Marxist revolutionary killed in Turkey in 1972) book.
